Health is my life. It’s more than just a statement for me, and I want to share this passion with as many people as possible.
I have struggled with health problems all of my life – only it wasn’t just my health that was the problem. I watched my parents decay into sickly, fragile human shells. The years of poor diet, lack of exercise and substance abuse had left them with poisoned bodies. I never wanted to be like that, and I don’t want anyone to be sentenced to that fate.
Their bad habits spilled over to me. I was an overweight kid who struggled with my self image. I was often sick, and became anorexic in high school. My body felt old by the time I hit my twenties. I wanted to change, but I didn’t have the tools to create that change.
My weight fluctuated until after I married my husband, and then the pounds packed on. I was tired. I blame myself. I became lazy and unmotivated in every aspect of my life. It seemed like it was just too much to try to change. I was sick. Geez…I was becoming my parents! I had to do something about it, and I did. I joined a gym and started reading everything I could get my hands on. I started to feel better! I started to find myself again! I even went back to college to create this new me.
I graduated From Kennesaw State University in 2009 with my Bachelor’s of Science in communication. I thought it was the right path for me, but that urge to promote wellness just kept nagging me. I had to give in, so I am currently working on obtaining my personal trainer’s license through the American Council on Exercise.
As for my marketing and PR experience…this website is the result from that. I want to share what I know, articles I read and all I come across that can help you. I want to encourage, support and hear from you. This page is for you, yes you, the person reading this right now!
The name of this site reflects my philosophy. Tabula Rasa means “blank slate.” I believe that everyone is a blank slate. You can start anew with your health. You just have to start the journey!
Welcome to my new home. I hope to inspire and educate about my passion – health.
~Namaste~
